Purpose of Conference
The objective of the Forest Landscape Restoration Conference is to examine the scientific basis for forest landscape restoration and its linkages to practice and policy. Forest Landscape Restoration is a process that aims to balance trade-offs between and improve ecological integrity and human well-being in degraded or deforested forest landscapes by fostering appropriate forms of restoration at strategically chosen locations. Simply put, forest landscape restoration brings people together to identify, negotiate and implement practices that restore an agreed optimal balance of the ecological, social and economic benefits of forests and trees within a broader pattern of land uses.
